Reports to: Regional Director, Emerging Asia based in Singapore

Job Description:

  • To develop and execute compliant sustainable growth strategy for Abbott diabetes Care (ADC) business in Indonesia under a full agency distribution model, by managing and supporting the distributors in achieving the business objectives, and ensure compliance with Abbott business policies.
  • To work with the distributor in creating a good working environment with focus on acquiring, developing and retaining top talent working for the distributor on behalf of Abbott. Acting as Sales and Marketing coach by spending at least 60% time with the distributor sales and marketing team out in the field and providing feedback on performance gaps.
  • To define long range strategic plan, ensure the achievements. Also establish comprehensive business strategies and oversees all tactics required to sustain existing business and drive new business.
  • To build and maintain relationships with decision-makers in the local health care system, government agencies, regulatory bodies, key opinion leaders and community.
  • To assess market data, determine and prioritize potential market growth opportunities, as well as anticipate market trends and implement the necessary changes to meet customer needs.

Skills and experience required:

  • At least 8 years’ working experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry with some experience of the OTC/retail business, including 4 years in leadership role managing a team with P&L accountability.
  • Excellent understanding of regulatory, QA and legal policies/environment relating to the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Established network with relevant government agencies, key opinion leaders, retail/trade and industry associations and the respective Public Health Authorities.
  • Strong business acumen, compliant, ethical, innovative and result-driven.
  • An independent manager who can work as an individual contributor under little direct supervision, and with the ability to coach in various areas such as sales, marketing and product management.
  • Competent in Bahasa and English, and effective communication and influencing skills, both upward and downward.
  • Excellent distributor management.
  • Ability to strategize and follow-through with implementation with high respect on commitments and deadlines.
  • Education: Bachelor Degree from reputable University, MBA is preferred.
  • Estimated Percentage of Travel: At least 40% travel locally and internationally.
