Senior Market Analyst – PC
IDC Asia/Pacific is seeking a highly motivated individual for a position for Sr Market Research Analyst across the PC group, based in Jakarta. The analyst will be responsible for carrying PC market in Indonesia and to support the growth of IDC’s research in Indonesia. The role will include responsibility in quantitative and qualitative market analysis, writing reports, and interaction with vendors and their partners to collect market data.
Job Scope:
- Working with the PC vendors , distribution channel, and other key stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure consistent and timely delivery of quarterly research to clients.
- Monitoring vendor activity, broad industry dynamics, and introduction of new models and their specifications.
- Collecting and organizing data in a structured format, completing the tracker input modules, and meeting tight deadlines.
- Analyzing and forecasting market trends on a quarterly basis.
- Tracking end-user and channel promotions on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Liaison with IDC Asia/Pacific in the tracker coordination process.
- Quality control of final data.
- Creating customized MS Excel pivot table deliverables for clients.
- Preparing qualitative write-ups and delivering client presentations/webcasts
- Processing any additional research projects as provided by the Research Manager.
Requirements:
- Degree in Economics, IT, or Statistics/equivalent
- Comfortable with market metrics and prior understanding of economic measures and concepts is an added advantage.
- Good verbal and written English a must
- Fluency in a 2nd Asian language is an added advantage
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Powerpoint)
- Minimum 2 – 3 years job experience in a market research firm, a market intelligence division of an IT company, or those having worked with an PC or Mobile Devices vendor / channel partner in mainstream sales, product marketing, business development or program marketing role
- Strong quantitative analysis skills, does not necessarily need to have a strong education background/ experience in statistical analysis
